Some Advantages of Laser Hair Removal
Here are some of the pros and cons of Chicago laser hair removal when compared to some of the other popular hair removal procedures like waxing, depilatory creams, exfoliation, or electrolysis. What these points demonstrate is that it is certainly time to think seriously about the benefits of laser hair removal.
First, be aware that while laser hair removal treatments are fast compared to electrolysis, they still take a bit of time. If you want to have hair removed from a large area such as your chest, back or legs, it will probably not be possible to do it in just one session. But it is still much faster than electrolysis.
You might be surprised to hear that laser hair removal results in permanent hair removal. That is a very important consideration, because the time you spend on getting a number of treatments has to be weighed against the time spent day in or day out using other non-permanent methods such as shaving, depilatory creams, or waxing. All of these - except for laser hair removal - require regular repeat treatments because as soon as you remove the hair it starts growing back almost immediately.
As already mentioned, when compared to electrolysis - the other relatively popular permanent hair removal treatment - laser hair removal is much faster. The reason is pretty simple. Electrolysis requires a hair-by-hair, follicle-by-follicle treatment which laser hair removal does not. With electrolysis a thin probe is inserted into each individual follicle which is then zapped with an electrical current strong enough to damage the follicle so it will no longer regenerate hair.
Laser hair removal is similar in that it disables the follicles, but it happens much more quickly. A gentle, specially designed “laser” light source is passed over the treatment area. The light passes through the skin and only interacts with more darkly colored follicles. The follicles are heated by the light, and as with electrolysis, they are impaired so they are no longer able to regenerate hair.
This speed factor has a direct bearing on the cost of laser hair removal. When it comes to removing hair from large areas of the skin there is really no comparison between laser hair removal and electrolysis. In such cases electrolysis is a slow and methodical process that will inevitably be stretched over months of expensive treatments. Laser hair removal, on the other hand, will take far fewer treatments, and will therefore cost much less.
Treatments on smaller patches of unwanted facial or pubic hair can be done in even less time. In many cases these treatments can be finished by a skilled technician in about 10 or 15 minutes.
Remember that before beginning any treatments for a health-related process such as laser hair removal you should consult with a physician or other qualified medical professional.
